**Daniel McCree was recognized several times during the St. Louis area observance of World Aids Day 2007.   While Daniel did not pass as a direct result of HIV, he struggled with the illness and advocated for others in the communities of Belleville, and St. Louis.

This Page is a Chronicle of The Celebrations of that day, both at the Christ Church Cathederal in Downtown St. Louis, as well as the observance and unveiling of the first AIDS QUILT in southern Illinois- sponsored by Bethany Place.

A message From Bono, as it was included in the service at Christ Church Cathedral

World Aids Day is observed once a year as an effort of renewal to our commitment to

the epidemic which still causes entirely too many fatalities each year.  In more recent years, the focus has been more on the life-saving medications avialable, but only to a select few accross the globe.  Within our own region, individuals struggle to afford the medication, which can easy cost $50,000 a year or more.

The Gay & Lesbian Community of St. Louis, much as most major cites in the U.S., was a direct result of the health crisis and the lack of attention to the epidemic problem.
